Fast-food chain KFC threatens to sue French football federation over Mbappe’s actions

Yesterday we mentioned Mbappe’s refusal to take part in a photo session at France for image rights reasons. Not only FFF has responded to this, KFC has also responded.

Alain Beral, vice president of KFC France, said: “We have paid for something clear. If necessary, we will assert our rights.”

“The French Football Federation needs money and KFC agrees to pay to have an image of what we are paying for. He is committed with the Federation to produce a collective image with each time at least four other players. We’re going to stop paying and then that’s it,” Alain Beral, vice-president of KFC France, told Sport Business Club.

However, KFC France also responded to Alain Beral’s comments.

The company said: “KFC France regrets the words that were spoken yesterday and reported in the media this morning. These are personal opinions, but in no way reflect the position of the company… Alain Beral did not speak on behalf of the company, but in the context of a private conversation during an event related to his functions as president of the National Basketball League.”

“The partnership between KFC and the French Football Federation (FFF) has always been a source of pride for the company… we have every confidence in the FFF’s ability to find satisfactory solutions for all of its partners and players, including Kylian Mbappe, whose supporters we are among the first in France.”
